Ivan Palanov continues to confidently expand his creative horizons with his new musical release, “Iskam Ya”. The song is part of the project “Folk Fusion: New Sounds of Bulgarian Folklore” by Diapason Records, realized with the financial support of the European Union (Next Generation) through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan — BG-RRP-11.020-0061-C01. In the music video, the artist even had to ride a horse for the first time in his life, managing to overcome the challenge flawlessly.

The official premiere of the video took place simultaneously on four music television channels – Fen TV, Balkanika Music Television, Fen Folk TV, and BG Music Channel.

“Iskam Ya” is an original composition created by an international creative team, with music and arrangement by Dimitris Dekos and lyrics by Deshka Petrova. The song is Ivan Palanov’s second project in the folk fusion style—a direction he discovered relatively recently, but which is already becoming an essential part of his artistic identity. The singer shares that the new sound brings him inspiration and satisfaction, and he is ambitious to continue developing this style in future projects.

The music video for “Iskam Ya” enhances the powerful musical message with striking visuals. Ivan Palanov surprises audiences with an unconventional look inspired by an American movie character—a role in which he feels extremely comfortable and which, in his own words, he truly enjoys. His on-screen partner is the charming Victoria, whose natural presence and ease add to the emotional impact of the video.

“I never imagined I would take part in a music video with such a look. I’m used to wearing traditional folk costumes and having various weapons tucked into my belt. This time, everything was completely different. I truly felt like I was on the set of an American movie. I admit I liked it—it’s a way to show another side of myself,” the singer shared.

The video was directed by Pavlin Ivanov – Bashmotion, who surprises with bold decisions and an unconventional approach. The filming took place at the Allure equestrian base. A curious fact is that for the purposes of the video, Ivan Palanov mounted a horse for the first time in his life. The team selected the beautiful horse Legia, who proved to be exceptionally calm and professional in front of the camera.

“It was a huge challenge when I found out I had to ride a horse. I really wanted it not to be too obvious that it was my first time. I think I did well. I’m very grateful to the entire team at the equestrian base, who helped me tremendously and guided me throughout the process. I can honestly say this has been the biggest challenge I’ve faced while filming a music video, but in general I’m always ready for any test in the name of my profession. And to be honest, I really enjoyed riding and I think I’ll do it again,” the performer added.

The video also features the dancers from Ballet New Ex, who contribute with modern and powerful choreography, emphasizing the fusion nature of the project and creating a dynamic dialogue between tradition and modernity.

Watch Ivan Palanov’s new video “I Want Her” on Fen TV, Balkanika Music Television, Fen Folk TV, and BG Music Channel, as well as on Diapason Records’ official YouTube channel. The song is available on all digital platforms.
