Victoria will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song “Growing Up is Getting Old”. The Bulgarian proposal for the music competition was presented at a special concert that brought together people from the three national televisions and show business around the Eurovision project in Bulgaria.
“Growing Up is Getting Old” is part of Victoria’s debut album “a little dramatic”. During the concert on BNT 1, the singer said that the choice was a significant challenge for her and the team: “The responsibility is extremely great, but I am glad that the producers of the project from the Bulgarian National Television, Ligna Group and my team came together around the composition, which has the strongest message and we can tell visually in the most attractive way. I will perform the song with all my heart and soul to make all Bulgarians proud.”
The Bulgarian song for Eurovision 2021 carries the message of returning to the roots and the place where everyone feels most secure and happy. Such is the story in the music video for “Growing Up is Getting Old”, where Victoria returns home after a huge disappointment. There she meets her “little self”, which reminds her of the important things in life. The role of the “little Vicky” is played by the young actress Katerina Lipovska, better known from the movie “Pelican’s Blood”.
The singer’s team says that “Growing Up is Getting Old” is the song that was most liked by international juries, which were attended by music editors, performers, television and music producers from European countries. The song also stood out as one of the favorites among Victoria’s 6 offers on the bulgaria2021.com platform, where thousands of music fans from around the world shared their feedback on “Imaginary Friend”, “Growing Up is Getting Old”, “Dive into Unknown”, “Phantom Pain”,“The Funeral Song” and “Ugly Cry”.
