Sofia sang along with Despina Vandi in a highly emotional greek night

For two hours, Despina Vandi sang tirelessly for the Bulgarian audience, who responded with the same energy—singing, dancing, and experiencing every song alongside her. “Good evening, I’m very happy to be here. It’s an honor for me—thank you,” were her first words to everyone in the hall.

The concert at Arena 8888 turned into a deeply emotional meeting between the performer and all those present—a night in which Greek music sounded both familiar and personal to the thousands in attendance.

The opening was set by Aristos Constantinou and his band, who, with an energetic set and modern Greek sound, prepared the stage for the appearance of the goddess of the Greek music scene.

From the very first chords of some of her most beloved songs, “Gia” and “Ta Sintrima,” Despina Vandi took the stage with confidence and her characteristic ease in commanding it. The reaction was immediate—the audience joined in from the very first songs, and the sense of distance between stage and crowd gradually disappeared.

In her two-hour program, she included not only her biggest hits such as “Na ti hairesei,” “Girismata,” “Ya Habibi,” and “Anaveis Foties,” but also songs that the Bulgarian audience strongly associates with the Greek scene, including “Ginete” by Pantelis Pantelidis. A special moment was the performance of her first song, “Gela Mou,” recorded with Vasilis Karras.

Throughout the show, Despina Vandi was constantly moving, shifting rhythms and moods, backed by a full team of musicians and dancers who enhanced the show’s dynamics. The choreography and visual elements followed the emotion of each song without overshadowing it.

One of the most powerful moments of the evening came with the performance of “Exo Emena,” when the singer became emotional and did not hide her feelings. It was the moment when the concert shifted from a show into a deeply personal experience for the performer.

Among the guests in the hall were prominent names from the Bulgarian pop-folk scene, including Sofi Marinova, Anelia, Preslava, Galena, Medi, and Selina. Also present were well-known figures from television and social media such as Nikolaos Tsitiridis, Daniel Bachorski and his wife Atanasiya, as well as other influencers.

At the end of the evening, Despina Vandi returned to one of the Bulgarian audience’s favorite songs, “Na ti hairesei,” which was performed for a second time and was sung almost entirely by the crowd.

Thus, Arena 8888 turned into the epicenter of true Greek euphoria—a night in which Sofia breathed in the rhythm of Athens. The sound of bouzouki, the dancing crowd, and the magnetic presence of Despina Vandi created a grand Greek night that will remain a vivid highlight in the capital’s musical calendar.
