Music beyond words: “Lyubovta te chaka” by Iva and Velislava Kostadinovi

Iva and Velislava Kostadinovi presented their new music project, “Lyubovta te chaka,” part of the project “Folk Fusion: New Sounds of Bulgarian Folklore” by Diapason Records, implemented with the financial support of the European Union (Next Generation) through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan – BG-RRP-11.020-0061-C01. The video premiered simultaneously on four TV channels – Fen TV, Balkanika Music Television, Fen Folk TV, and BG Music Channel – as well as on the Diapason Records YouTube channel.
“Lyubovta te chaka” is a deeply emotional composition that weaves authentic Bulgarian folklore with a contemporary sound. The song tells a story about love—the kind that can be read in the eyes and cannot be hidden, the kind that passes through life’s trials yet, despite everything, remains alive, uplifting, and giving.

“In a person’s eyes you can read their story. They never lie. They tell stories. Love is seen and read best in a person’s eyes. It cannot be hidden. If you want to know whether someone is in love, look them in the eyes. And besides with our eyes, we also express love through song. That is what we sing about in our newest song, ‘Lyubovta te chaka,’ part of the project ‘Folk Fusion: New Sounds of Bulgarian Folklore.’ Once again, we tell a story about love—the song of the heart and the eyes that could never hide love: strong, powerful, uplifting. The love that gives. The love that goes through the twists and turns of life, yet still stands its ground and continues to shine. That is exactly its strength,” shared Iva and Velislava Kostadinovi.

The music was created by Svetlin Kaslev and Iva Kostadinova, who also composed the arrangement. The lyrics were written by Hristina Dimova and Iva Kostadinova.
“Svetlin and I wrote the music, and I had the melody recorded on my phone for quite some time, but once we started working on it, we changed it a little. In the arrangement, the main instrument we hear is the gadulka played by Borislav Galabov, and the opening once again features the kaval of Georgi Dobrev,” revealed Iva Kostadinova.
The direction of the video for “Lyubovta te chaka” is by Stefan Marinov of Buddubbaz Tape Company, with whom the sisters are collaborating once again. The video features actors Nedilyana Pavlik and Yavor Valkanov, graduates of the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts “Krastyo Sarafov,” from the last class of Stefan Danailov, together with Velislava.

“In the video, we see life in an artificial environment, or the magic of love. Love is expressed through both its strong and its less beautiful moments—just like in real life. But when it is true and strong, it prevails,” said Iva and Velislava Kostadinovi.
The video also features dancers from Ballet New eX, who add freshness and dynamism to the atmosphere.

“Our styling is once again by Antonia Yordanova, who is our inspiration. This time we changed two looks, as the studio shoot allowed us to explore more in that direction. We would like to thank Underground Studio for the warm welcome and support in every respect,” the performers added.
