Roxen presents “Amnesia” – Romania’s entry for Eurovision 2021

Roxen premieres her official Eurovision entry – “Amnesia”, inspired by the singer’s inner fights and personal struggles.

After the cancellation of Eurovision in 2020, Roxen is once again set to represent Romania in this year’s contest, which is going to take place in Rotterdam from the 18-22 of May.

For “Amnesia”, Roxen teamed up once again with Viky Red, the same producer she worked with on last year’s Eurovison entry – “Alcohol You”, alongside Ira on songwriting duties. 

“This last year was a a bit of a rollercoaster, filled with incredibly good moments, but also some low points. In the end, what kept me going the most was that I had some really great projects. “Amnesia” somehow manages to give a voice to all these feelings in a way that for me is incredibly pure.

I would like to thank everyone who has been by my side all this time and has offered me all the support that I needed. Roxen is made up of pieces from each and everyone of you.”, Roxen said.

The music video, directed by Bogdan Paun, focuses on Roxen’s inner battles, which in this case were portrayed by contemporary dance artists. The director will also be taking care of her Eurovsion show.

Roxen managed to become one of the top artists in Romania in just a little over a year, topping the Airplay charts with her first 2 singles – “Ce-ti canta dragostea” & “Spune-mi”, while also releasing successful collaborations with acts such as Sickotoy and DJ Project. Her debut track, “You Don’t Love Me”, a collaboration with Sickotoy, managed to reach the top 10 in both Romania and Bulgaria, while also receiving significat airplay in countries such as France, Mexico, Spain and Turkey.

Six songs were submitted for the National Selection, with the 9 appointed jury members choosing “Amnesia”.
