Radostina Nikolova Combines Tradition with a Modern Sound
The new musical release by the charming artist Radostina Nikolova – “Dey Moma, Dey” – is the second single from the Diapason Records project “Folk Fusion: New Sounds of Bulgarian Folklore.” The project includes eight original songs that present an innovative synthesis between pop, ethno, and traditional Bulgarian folklore, showing how folk music can sound modern and relevant through a contemporary interpretation. It was realized with the financial support of the European Union (Next Generation EU) through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), project No. BG-RRP-11.020-0061-C01.
The official premiere of the “Dey Moma, Dey” music video took place simultaneously on four leading music TV channels – Fen TV, Balkanika Music Television, Fen Folk TV, and BG Music Channel.
This is the first pop-ethno project for Radostina Nikolova – an artist known for her beautiful voice and deep connection to Bulgarian folk traditions. The music and arrangement of the song were created by Alex Nushev, who skillfully combines a contemporary sound with characteristic elements of Bulgarian folklore. The composition incorporates a motif from the Graovo folk song “Bairaktare.” The lyrics, written by Deshka Petrova, intertwine tenderness, strength, and a message of femininity, nature, and harmony.

The video for “Dey Moma, Dey” is a true visual celebration. Directed by Radina Milencheva, it creates a fairy-tale atmosphere filled with color, light, and symbolism.
Radostina Nikolova appears as the embodiment of natural beauty and feminine strength – immersed in a vivid, almost magical setting that enhances the message of the song. The beautiful tiara and floral decorations were crafted by Maria Zhelankova, who was also responsible for the artist’s makeup and hair.
The video also features the dancers of Ballet New eX, who bring additional dynamism and emotion to the performance.
